Our Essence
Education and Love.Confidence and Happiness. This is the heart and DNA of KALIE.
Our journey began in 2020 in Madagascar, at a time when the natural hair movement for textured hair was gaining momentum. A movement rooted in identity, pride, and self-acceptance.
Our hair makes us unique.
It is a living expression of who we are — evolving with us, speaking for us, empowering us every single day.
Kalie Haircare was created to guide that journey.
We offer educational programs and personalized guides designed to help you understand, nurture, and care for your hair in harmony with your personality and lifestyle.
Because when you understand your hair, you empower yourself. And when you care for it with intention, confidence follows.
At Kalie, we believe haircare is not just routine. It’s education. It’s self-love. It’s growth.
The Meaning Behind
KALIE is an original name born from the combination of two powerful meanings.
It comes from “Kaliana” in Malagasy, which expresses the idea of doing something with deep care, intention, and attention to detail. It also echoes “Cali,” meaning the most beautiful.
Kalie represents the harmony between Malagasy craftsmanship and feminine beauty.
It is a celebration of care — care in formulation, care in tradition, and care in self-love.
It is where heritage meets confidence.
Where intentional creation meets natural beauty.
Because true beauty is not rushed.
It is nurtured.
Scientists & Curly
Elivinah Sylla is a Malagasy scientist and entrepreneur.
Born in Madagascar with naturally curly hair, she grew up trying to fit into the beauty standards of her society — believing that acceptance meant conforming. Loving your textured hair is one thing. Wearing it proudly every single day is another. It takes courage.
Living abroad changed everything. It gave me the space to return to my natural hair — a journey that was uncomfortable, emotional, and deeply transformative. It wasn’t easy. But it was empowering. That journey became the beginning of a love story — the one I chose to build with myself.
Kalie was born from that love.
Because when you truly love something, you take care of it.
Today, I want to share that experience and contribute to redefining beauty standards. I created Kalie to help women embrace who they are, care for their natural hair, and feel confident, radiant, and unapologetically themselves.
This is more than hair.
It’s self-acceptance.
It’s confidence.
It’s freedom.
